Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the app Reels Blocker ("the App", "we", "us") handles information on Android and iOS. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. What the App does
The App helps you stop doomscrolling by blocking short-video screens (reels / shorts) or whole apps that you choose.
2. Android: Accessibility Service
On Android the App uses the Accessibility Service API for its core feature. When you enable it, the service observes only the apps you choose to block (a fixed list of short-video apps) to detect when a reels or shorts screen is open, and then performs a "back" or "home" action to close it.
- The service reads only screen element identifiers needed to recognise the short-video player.
- It does not read, store or send what you type, your messages, passwords or any other screen content.
- The only data saved is on your device: your on/off choices and a daily count of blocked screens, shown in the App's statistics.
- Nothing collected through the Accessibility Service is shared with us or any third party.
- You are shown a clear explanation and must agree before enabling it, and you can turn it off any time in your phone's Accessibility settings.
3. iOS: Screen Time (Family Controls)
On iOS the App uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls / Managed Settings) APIs. The apps and categories you pick are represented by private tokens created by Apple; the App cannot see which apps they are, and this information never leaves your device. Focus minutes are counted on your device only.
4. Information collected by third parties
The App is free and shows ads using Google AdMob, which may collect the advertising ID, IP address and device/app usage data to show and measure ads (Google Privacy Policy). Where required, you are asked for consent first (and on iOS, App Tracking Transparency permission). You can change these choices in the App's Settings and in your device settings.
5. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Data retention and deletion
All App data is stored on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
